World series of poker
Catch all the wheelin' and dealin', the excitement, and star players at this year's World Series of Poker at Las Vegas June 2 - July 16, 2005.
This year, for the first time in championship history the 2005 WSOP will be held at Harrah's Rio Suites with the final 2 days of the main event taking place at the traditional venue, Binion's Horseshoe, in downtown Las Vegas.
Last year, Greg "Fossilman" Raymer won his $10,000 buy-in stake at an online poker site and went on to beat the other 2,576 players to win the 2004 championship and the $5 million pot.
The annual WSOP showdown features such events as Lowball, Seven-card and Omaha and - the most popular event by far - Texas Hold 'em.
Watch world champs battle it out during the last round in a marathon game of No-Limit Hold 'em with the winner of that event named world champion of the WSOP. Meanwhile, check out more facts and information, player profiles, the complete 2005 schedule, photos and color commentary on this year's World Series of Poker on the Web...
