Hollywood Celebrities and their love for Poker

The charisma and the magic of poker have taken the entire world into its hold. People related to all sorts of occupation play the game either to win money out of it or to set themselves free from the worldly worries. If we talk about Hollywood and poker, then both have a lot of similarities. They both are popular for the glamour, the money and the thrill they contain. Let us go through some professional Hollywood poker players.

Ben Affleck is said to be an avid Hollywood poker player. Ben who is an American actor, film director and screenwriter is famous for his work in Good Will Hunting, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, Changing Lanes, Daredevil, etc. Affleck is regularly seen at major poker events and has won the California State Poker Championship in 2004. By doing so he qualified for the World Poker Tour’s final tournament.

Next we have the 2008 Maxim’s cover girl Shannon Elizabeth as a Hollywood poker player. After her major box office success American Pie, Shannon stared in Hollywood movies such as Scary Movie, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Torricats. Elizabeth is one of the celebrities who describe poker as her second career. She is one of the leading ladies in the game and has played in the main event of the 2005 World Series of Poker. In 2007, she advanced to the NBC National Head Up Poker Championship. She is truly a treat to see on the table.

Out of the Hollywood poker players, we have a poker player who is a former World No.1 professional tennis player, Boris Becker. In 2007, Becker joined the Team Poker Star group of poker players. Now he can be seen in many great events, gambling his cards around. He is an Olympic gold medalist and the youngest men’s singles title winner at Wimbledon.

Another celebrity out of the list of famous Hollywood poker players we have Shane Warne, the greatest spinner in the Australian cricketing books. In the year 2008, Warne signed an agreement to represent 888 Poker at all leading tournaments, including the World Series of Poker.

The game of poker is all about money, style and charisma, and this is exactly what Hollywood brings into it. Hollywood poker players are more or less as good as those who take poker professionally. Even though it might be their second business, but indeed these celebrities are sincere to the love of the game and bring a lot of joy into it.
